What is the minimum amount of crypto I can top up

Some supported cryptocurrencies may require a specific top-up amount to ensure successful transfers on Nexo’s platform.

These minimums are designed to prevent dusting attacks across various blockchain networks. Transfers below these minimums will not appear in your Transactions tab or update your account balance.

In this article:

  1. Summary of relevant minimum top-up amounts

2. Key considerations for certain assets

* XRP:

  • Ripple requires you to maintain a minimum reserve of 10 XRP in your third-party wallet, in addition to the technical minimum of Nexo’s platform.

    Withdrawing all your XRP from a wallet triggers an unsupported transfer known as Account Delete. To avoid this, you must have at least 10 XRP remaining in the wallet from which you send the assets.

    If you sent XRP tokens to your Nexo account using this method, contact Nexo’s $1 Care team.

** XLM:

  • Withdrawing all your XLM (Lumens) tokens from a wallet triggers an unsupported transfer known as Account Merge.

    If you send XLM tokens to your Nexo account using this method, they cannot be retrieved and are to be considered lost.

    To avoid this, you must leave at least 1 XLM in the wallet from which you send the assets.

*** DOT:

  • The Polkadot blockchain requires that an account has at least 1 DOT token in it to be active (Existential Deposit).

    Transfers under the threshold will fail on the blockchain and will not be reflected in your Nexo account.

    To prevent any unwanted complications, make sure you send at least 1 DOT per transaction to your Nexo DOT address.

Important: The minimum balance requirements for withdrawing XRP or XLM do not apply to your Nexo account, as Nexo’s platform uses a shared XRP/XLM address with a unique Destination Tag/MEMO for each user.
